Hobbyist wood carver John Merritt, who specializes in carving complex objects like chains and scissors out of single blocks of wood, shows off pieces from his 54 years of woodworking in this 2011 video by Rick Leone. Some of his more impressive works include a length of chain carved from a single toothpick, and a cage containing 24 balls that took 200 hours to carve from a block of mahogany.
