Hurricane Sandy Destruction in Staten Island & Rockaway Beach

Last week we posted Casey Neistat’s jaw-dropping video of the flooding in Lower Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy. The New York City-based filmmaker has followed up with two sobering videos of the storm’s devastating aftermath. Five days after the hurricane, Neistat brought clothes and food to badly battered Staten Island and documented the many destroyed homes and beleaguered residents. Yesterday Neistat took his camera to Rockaway Beach in Queens, which looks like it was struck by some combination of a tsunami and a tornado. If you’d like to support the relief effort, see FEMA’s volunteering and donation resource page, or consider a donation to the American Red Cross.
