How to Construct a Raised ‘Bed Shed’ Shelter Using Only Primitive Technology

Primitive Technology demonstrates how to construct a “bed shed” shelter using techniques that make use of only wooden and stone hand tools. The structure features a thatched roof to protect its occupant from the rain, as well as a raised and woven platform to serve as a soft bed. The platform is high enough off the ground that a small fire can be lit underneath to keep warm and to protect the fire itself from rain.

I built a bed shed, a small shelter with a sleeping platform built into it. It’s quicker to build than a large hut but can be extended later on when materials and time become available. It’s not far from the dome shaped grass hut I built earlier.
