Heath Ledger’s Joker Diary From ‘The Dark Knight’ Revealed in New Documentary ‘Heath Ledger: Too Young To Die’

The detailed diary that late actor Heath Ledger pieced together, while preparing for his incredible role as the Joker in The Dark Knight (2008), has been revealed in a new 48-minute documentary titled Heath Ledger: Too Young To Die. During the trailer for his documentary, Heath’s father Kim Ledger flips through the diary filled with interesting notes and influential clippings while talking about how immersed his son became in each role that he took.

Clippings from comic books, images from Stanley Kubrick‘s A Clockwork Orange, and the classic quote “Why so serious?” were among a few of the things that surfaced in Heath’s diary, which all came together in the end to fuel his iconic Joker performance. The documentary, directed by Dag Freyer and produced by Broadview TV, is currently available to rent and purchase online from Vimeo On Demand.
