Web hosting company Rackspace recently unveiled a Google Street View tour of their highly unusual headquarters: “The Castle,” a 1.2 million square foot former shopping mall in San Antonio, Texas. More than 3,000 employees work in the facility in converted retail spaces. The Castle has many eccentric flourishes including a two story slide, several amusement park ride gondolas, and a giant chessboard. We’ve visited our friends at Rackspace many times over the years (most recently in 2011)—we use their data centers and cloud hosting infrastructure for our web hosting services.
