Google Invites Third Parties to Contribute Imagery to Street View with Trekker Backpack Camera System

Yesterday Google announced a pilot program to allow third parties to contribute imagery to Street View with the company’s Trekker backpack camera system. The program invites organizations and even individuals to apply for a chance to borrow the Trekker system. Google’s first partner in the program, the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, is now using Trekker to photograph popular tourist destinations in Hawaii.
