On Monday Banksy revealed Girl with a Pierced Eardrum, a new work of street art based on the iconic painting, Girl with a Pearl Earring, by Johannes Vermeer. Banksy’s work, painted on a building in Bristol, UK, incorporates an alarm bell in place of the original painting’s pearl earring. The Independent reports that, as of today, the new work has already been vandalized with splatters of paint.
