Georgia Tech Developed a Robotic Limb That Provides Drummers a Third Arm to Play With

Robotic Drummer Arm in Action

A robotic limb being developed by Georgia Tech can give drummers a third arm to play with. The device attaches to a drummer’s shoulder and responds to both gestures and the sounds of the music being played. The team at Georgie Tech is led by professor Gil Weinstein, and they are working to link the arm’s movement to the wearer’s brain activity.

Weinstein and his team have also developed a prosthetic limb for a drummer who lost his right hand in an accident.
