In his 2005 installation Full Stop, artist Tom Burckhardt created a life-sized model of an artist’s studio out of cardboard, black paint, wood, and hot glue. Despite the uncanny level of detail–the brushes, books, the can of turpentine–the installation does not represent a specific studio space. Rather, the 18 by 18 foot room is based on photos of studios belonging to a variety of artists, including Jackson Pollock and Francis Bacon.
