Friendly Baby Elephants Escort an Investigative Journalist to Meet the Rest of the Herd

While working on his investigative piece “Tracking Ivory” for Natural Geographic, journalist Bryan Christy encountered a very friendly group of baby elephants at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in the Tsavo National Park who were more than very happy to keep him company as he went to meet the rest of the herd.

In this outtake from the National Geographic Explorer show “Warlords of Ivory,” Bryan Christy visits the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage in Kenya and marvels at the accepting nature of the juvenile elephants, which escort him as they are released into the wild and join adult elephants.
