Free to Play: The Movie is a feature-length documentary film from Valve Software that follows three professional gamers as they compete for a $1,000,000 prize at the first Dota 2 International Tournament.

The film follows professional Dota 2, a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game from Valve, players Benedict “hyhy” Lim Han Yong from Singapore, Danylo “Dendi” Ishutin from Ukraine, and Clinton “Fear” Loomis from the United States and their individual eSports — organized professional video game competitions — careers up to and including the tournament.

A million dollar tournament changed the landscape of the gaming world and for those elite players at the top of their craft, nothing would ever be the same again. Produced by Valve, the film documents the challenges and sacrifices required of players to compete at the highest level.
