Four New Element Names Will Be Added to the Periodic Table of Elements Pending Review

The recently discovered elements 113, 115, 117 and 118 will officially have the names nihonium (Nh), moscovium (Mc), tennessine (Ts), and oganesson (Og) added to the periodic table of elements pending review. The additional names were announced by The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, the body that oversees the periodic table.

The IUPAC has apparently rejected the public petition to name one of the elements “lemmium” after late Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister who died in January, just days after the confirmation of the new elements was announced.
