Feline Lovers Raising Funds to Buy All the Ad Space at a London Tube Stop and Fill It With Photos of Cats

The Citizens Advertising Takeover Service (CATS) is a new project from the creative individuals at Glimpse who are also cat lovers in London. CATS is currently raising funds through Kickstarter in order to buy all of the advertising space at an unspecified tube station and fill that space with pictures of cats. Because “a) it would look amazing b) it’s exhausting being asked to buy stuff all the time” and c) cats.

Wouldn’t it be great not to worry about the holiday we can’t afford, the car we don’t need, or the body we don’t have? Imagine a world where public spaces made you feel good?…We can turn an entire station into a roaring festival of cats. If we raise £20,000 we can do a whole platform in one of the smaller stations – any higher and we’re in the big leagues. We know this is a silly project. But what if we did this around the whole country, or in every major city in the world? Cats everywhere! …this is about trying something, flexing our collective voice in the most idiotic of ways. From all this madness something amazing could happen. Perhaps we’ll start to realise that buying stuff isn’t making us happy. Maybe cats won’t make us happy either, but it’s got to be better than insurance adverts.
