Photographer and researcher Bradley Garrett recounts his adventures in urban exploration in his book, Explore Everything: Place-Hacking the City. During four years as an urban explorer, Garrett has traveled the world visiting and photographing construction sites, abandoned buildings, bridges, and other off-limits areas. The book releases on October 8, 2013—it is available for pre-order on Amazon. For more of Garrett’s urban exploration photography check out this photo gallery over at The Atlantic’s “In Focus” blog.

Plotting expeditions from London, Paris, Berlin, Detroit, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, Bradley L. Garrett has evaded urban security in order to experience the city in ways beyond the boundaries of conventional life. He calls it ‘place hacking’: the recoding of closed, secret, hidden and forgotten urban space to make them realms of opportunity.
