This is the inside story of Street Art – a brutal and revealing account of what happens when fame, money and vandalism collide. Exit Through the Gift Shop follows an eccentric shop-keeper turned amateur film-maker as he attempts to capture many of the world’s most infamous vandals on camera, only to have a British stencil artist named Banksy turn the camcorder back on its owner with wildly unexpected results.
“Exit Through the Gift Shop”, the amazing street art documentary by Banksy will be released on DVD on December 14th and can now be pre-ordered through Amazon. It is also now available to rent or purchase through iTunes.
Banksy, Filmbuff and Oscilliscope provided a few advance copies of the DVD to us that we will be giving away too our readers. We will be giving out a total 18 DVDs through our Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr accounts.
Here’s how it will work:
Twitter – 1st Retweet wins the DVD. We will be going by the official Twitter Retweet function.
Facebook – The 1st comment on the Facebook post wins the DVD. We’ll comment on the post to confirm the winner.
Tumblr – 1st Reblog wins the DVD.
All winners that we announce will need to email us their mailing address. We will be shipping out the DVDs the week of December 13th via US mail. DVDs not claimed by December 12th will be given away again.
The giveaway will start with this post as it shows up on the three services. It will be followed by 5 more updates related to the film sent to each service for another chance to win.
UPDATE 1: Ok, time for a slight change. People have been deleting their retweets and reblogs in order to jockey for position, so starting with round #3 it will be the first retweet or reblog that wins. So get your microblogging fingers ready!
UPDATE 2: So, as it turns out, Tumblr is not a good place to do giveaways because there is no easy way to let people win. So the rest of the DVDs from this point on will be given away via Twitter and Facebook.
