Musicians/producers/djs Diplo and Skrillex, who have been working together as Jack Ü, recently teamed up with former teenybopper Justin Bieber to create “Where Are Ü Now“, an amazingly produced multi-layered song. In speaking with The New York Times, both Diplo and Skrillex broke down sections of the song, explaining how they developed different sounds along with the arrangement of multiple beats, rhythms and times.
People are always trying to avoid digital distortion, but we always like using it. We’re literally always trying to find something you haven’t heard before. You took a little pattern and create it into a whole different sound, but it still has the elements of some human thing, like a warmth in the track.
