Dedicated Bicyclist Creates Ingenious Doodle Art Using the GPS Coordinates of His Traveled Routes

Bicyclist Stephen Lund ingeniously creates amazing doodle art that he makes through Strava, a GPS service that tracks and plots the routes taken, which have been quite a lot. According to Lund, he biked over 22,300 km (13,856 miles) in his native Victoria during the whole of 2015, much of which was done while creating his doodles.

So how long is 22,300 km really? It’s 56% of the distance around the world at the equator. It’s 0.6% of the distance from Earth to the moon. It’s like riding in a straight line, straight across Canada and the Atlantic Ocean, from Victoria, BC, to London, England…then back to Victoria…then back over to London again.

Lund also spoke about his GPS art in December 2015 during a TEDxVictoria talk.
