I finally had a chance to upload photos from my 2009 visit to Dealey Plaza in Dallas, the location where president John F. Kennedy was assassinated and Texas Governor John Connally was shot on November 22, 1963. The area includes the Grassy Knoll, the former Texas School Book Depository Building and a constant stream of conspiracy theorists.
During the same trip, I walked a few block from Dealey Plaza over to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza (photos) and also drove over to Texas Theatre (photo), where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested after trying to hide from the police.
One thing that always stuck me as odd on my various trips to Dealey Plaza over the years is that there is a plaque at the side of the road where Kennedy as assassinated that reads: “This site possesses national significance in commemorating the history of the United States of America”. Why not say what actually happened?
There is also a plaque on the side of the former Texas School Book Depository Building that mentions that it is allegedly the location where Lee Harvey Oswald shot Kennedy from a sixth floor window. Here are more photos of Dealey Plaza:
