In his photo project “Cropped”, Dutch artist Gerco de Ruijter documents the circular crop patterns (sometimes called “crop circles”) that are a byproduct of center pivot irrigation in images taken from Google Earth. He presents the circles both in prints and in “Crops”, a stop motion animation. De Ruijter created the project between 2012 and 2015.
