Compassionate Romanian Animal Shelter Provides Free Wheelchairs to Paraplegic Dogs In Their Care

Adapostul Speranta is a rescue shelter in Popesti-Leordeni, Romania that actively cares for animals who have been abandoned, hurt or rescued from abuse. In partnership with Four Paws International, the shelter has also been supplying paraplegic dogs with free wheelchairs and a place to live for the rest of their lives.

At Speranta, we insist not to leave any dog behind. Beside the worst of cases, when putting a dog to sleep can save him from a life of torment and pain, we absolutely refuse to end a life that, with proper care, can be a happy one. And we’re also the ones who provide that care, and the happiness of our paraplegic dogs is our reward. With the help of their specially built carts, our doggies that can’t move their back legs anymore live a happy life: they run (they’re the only ones who roam free in every corner of the shelter), they enjoy the sun and the grass, sometimes they even race, with their funny wheels.

Unfortunately, some of the dogs are outgrowing their wheels and some have broken. Donations to the shelter can be made online to help pay for new wheelchairs while the old ones get repaired for new residents.

Unfortunately, the dogs get bigger and some carts broke. Right now, we desperately need to buy other 11 carts, for their future” drivers” can move again. As winter is getting closer and our accounts are almost empty, you are our only hope. Any donation, no matter how small, is a real life jacket for our canine friends. It’s in your power to make a haunted soul to feel joy again.
