Compassionate Motorcyclist Stops Traffic to Rescue a Tiny Orange Kitten Stranded on a Busy Roadway

When motorcyclist E511 came upon the terrifying sight of a tiny orange kitten frantically trying to navigate traffic on a very busy roadway with oncoming cars going at full speed, she bravely parked her 2013 Honda CBR250R partially across the opposing lane to stop traffic, grabbed the kitten and safely handed him off to a woman who was standing in a parking lot nearby watching the whole thing. E511 then grabbed her bike, met the woman in the same parking lot, put the shaken kitten in her helmet to recover and said that she was more than happy to take him home, which she did. She also hilariously named the kitten “Skidmark” aka “the dork”. Luckily, the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet camera, which captured the entire heroic rescue. Bravo E511!

Still shaking! Thank you to the mystery lady that helped and all the people that paid attention and stopped, it was very appreciated. Kitten turned out to be a he, and is resting safely now.

Update – To answer some questions –
– Named him Skidmark.
– Keeping him for now.
– Have tried to contact person in red car, but she was unavailable. Either to find out if Skids is hers, or to make sure she knows strays are chilling in her undercarriage. She has my number, and a summary of the incident, have yet to hear from her.

Kitten in Helmet

Skidmark is doing well in E511’s care, as evidenced in these adorable videos.

The dork is home, and happy. To add, he was taken to the vet yesterday afternoon after the incident, all is well! Just a little ringworm, but he’s a trooper! …Thanks everyone for the kind words! Your views are helping us earn money for Skids, and also for our local animal shelter! I am very appreciative of all your kind words over the past few hours, you’ve kept me going through all of this!
