Fantastic graphic novel/comic artist Chris Ware will be at The Booksmith in San Francisco this Friday, October 21st for a 7pm signing of his hardcover collection of “The ACME Novelty Library” series. Other amazing works by Chris Ware include “Quimby the Mouse” and “Jimmy Corrigan, the Smartest Kid on Earth”, as well as the recent McSweeney’s 13, that he edited.
Utterly eschewing the general bonhomie surrounding the newly-minted contemporary regard for the comic strip medium as a language of complicated personal expression and artistic sophistication, professional colorist and award-winning letterer Chris Ware returns to the book trade with The ACME Novelty Library, a hardcover distillation of material with which he tuckpointed the holes of his regular comic book periodical over the past decade.
