Bruce Springsteen Opened His Show in Brooklyn With a Poignant Version of ‘Purple Rain’

In a beautiful tribute to the untimely death of Prince that was captured by concertgoer Stan Goldstein, a melancholy Bruce Springsteen walked onto a hushed stage flooded in violet light and opened his sold-out show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn with a truly poignant version of “Purple Rain“.

Another fan, dvddubbingguy posted a video of the same song, this time with a multi-camera point-of-view.

Springsteen had previously paid tribute to the equally untimely passings of Glen Frey and David Bowie. As one commenter on YouTube stated “The Boss” has such tremendous respect for fellow musicians. …Mad love for Bruce Springsteen. Class Act”. Agreed.
