British Woman is First Person to Cycle to the South Pole

On December 27, 2013 British adventurer Maria Leijerstam arrived at the South Pole aboard her customized recumbent tricycle, making her the first person to cycle to the South Pole. She completed the 400-mile journey, which saw her traverse glaciers, windswept plateaus, and the Transantarctic Mountains, in just 10 days. More photos of the expedition can be found on Flickr.
