Black Hole, High Speed Photos of Spinning Paint

In the colorful photo series “Black Hole,” photographer Fabian Oefner created circular paint patterns by spinning paint with a power drill. Oefner applied paint to a cylinder attached to a drill to create the images. The drill was rigged to a camera with a high-speed flash—the spinning paint in the photos was captured milliseconds after the drill was activated.
