Benoît Mandelbrot, The Father of Fractals, Talks About His Love of Mathematics in 2010 Errol Morris Interview

Mathematician and father of the fractal Benoît B. Mandelbrot talks about his love of mathematics and the origin of the term “fractal” in this 2010 interview by Errol Morris. The interview would be Mandelbrot’s last—he died 18 days after it was filmed. The video was produced by IBM and is part of the company’s commemoration of the life of Mandelbrot (the mathematician worked at IBM for 35 years). We previously posted about another Mandelbrot commemorative project from IBM, the IBMblr Fractalizer.
