The beautiful vases in the limited edition sculpture series “Amalgamated” are crafted from a most unusual material: pencils. The vases are made by first creating a solid, plywood-like material out of layered and glued pencils. The pencil block is then turned into a vase with the help of a lathe machine (the process is shown in this making-of video). The vases were created by Netherlands-based Studio Markunpoika and are available through Gallery FUMI in London.
