Barber Offers Disciplinary ‘Benjamin Button Special’ Haircuts to Misbehaving Children to Make Them Look Like Old Men

The Benjamin Button Special

Barber Russell Frederick of A-1 Kutz in Snellville, Georgia is offering the “Benjamin Button Special” haircut to discipline misbehaving children. The haircut is designed to make it appear like the child has typical male pattern baldness, creating the illusion that they are really just a tiny old man. Frederick first tried the cut to discipline his 12-year-old son Rushawn, and says the boy’s behavior and school grades improved dramatically after the new look.

The name of the haircut is a reference to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story about a baby born as a 70-year-old man that ages in reverse. The story was adapted into a film of the same name starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett in 2008.

Frederick gave an interview to Fox 5 News about the cut, and he says the media attention he is now receiving has been “bananas.”

The bald pattern the “Benjamin Button Special” was modeled after can be seen in the trailer for the film.
