After losing his arms in an accident at age 10, Egyptian table tennis player Ibrahim Hamato was determined to find a way to keep playing his favorite sport. Holding the paddle in his mouth, Hamato has managed to play the sport at a level that lets him compete against pros.
I wanted to play again, holding the racket under my arm, but it didn’t work out. After trying different options, I found myself playing with my mouth.
Hamato was invited by the International Table Tennis Federation as a guest of honor to the ZEN-NOH 2014 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
