An Upright Walking Bear Returns to the New Jersey Neighborhood Where He Was First Spotted

In 2014, a wayward bear was spotted wandering around a New Jersey neighborhood, walking upright like a human. The bear was given the name Pedals but has been rarely seen since. A group of neighbors concerned for Pedals’ welfare started a Facebook group in order to keep an eye out for him. Fortunately, Pedals most recently spotted on June 17th and then on June 21st. with injuries and missing a front paw. Despite his injuries, however, Pedals does not qualify for rescue and sanctuary per the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife
