As the 1968 Stanley Kubrick sci-fi masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey was recently re-released in UK theaters, a rare 1967 trailer for the film has resurfaced online, comprised almost exclusively of test footage created by special effects artist Douglas Trumbull. The promotion video utilized rough footage as the final special effects weren’t completed until a month before the film’s opening.
