An Animated Short Narrated by Bill Gates About Whether Genetically Modified Foods Can End World Hunger by 2030

“Can GMOs End World Hunger by 2030?” is an animated short created by The Verge that is based on a talk given by Bill Gates about the role that genetically modified organisms could play in the global economy by the year 2030. Gates uses the story of Tanzanian farmer Joyce Sanders to illustrate his point.

In 2012, life changed for Joyce when she started growing maize seed bred to tolerate drought.
