An Aging Sheriff Learns to Forgive Himself in the Beautiful Animated Short ‘Borrowed Time’

The award-winning animated short entitled “Borrowed Time” by Andrew Coats and Lou Hammou-Ladj tells the beautiful and heartbreaking story of an aging sheriff who returns to the site of a tragic childhood accident in the hopes of ending his own life. While upon that precipice, the lawman’s eyes caught the sight of something that would allow him to forgive himself and press on with his life.

A weathered Sheriff returns to the remains of an accident he has spent a lifetime trying to forget. With each step forward, the memories come flooding back. Faced with his mistake once again, he must find the strength to carry on. “Borrowed Time” is an animated short film, directed by Andrew Coats & Lou Hamou-Lhadj, and produced by Amanda Deering Jones. Music by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla.
