Amazon Echo Dot and Amazon Tap, Two New Smaller and Portable Versions of Amazon Echo

Amazon has introduced two new products that utilize its Alexa Voice Service, the Echo Dot and the Amazon Tap.

The Echo Dot is a smaller version of the original Amazon Echo device released in 2014. Similar to its larger predecessor, the Echo Dot can serve as a voice-activated Bluetooth speaker that can be used to order Amazon products or get information like news, weather, and calendar events. It can also connect to a home’s smart devices to control temperature, lighting, and other features.

The Amazon Tap is a portable Bluetooth speaker with Alexa capabilities. It comes with a charging cradle and can be dressed up with an optional protective case available in six colors. The speaker can provide up to nine hours of playback on a single charge, and features Dolby dual stereo speakers.

The Echo Dot is currently only available to be ordered through a voice command on Alexa enabled devices like the original Amazon Echo or an Amazon Fire TV device.
