The Iconic Movie Posters That Never Were is an online exhibit released by the events website Daybees featuring alternative and unseen versions of iconic movie posters by leading illustrators in Hollywood (Bill Gold, Brian D Fox and Indika). It gives us a look at the creative process that each of these illustrators had to go through before finally coming to their final poster design. Our online exhibition reveals poster designs more avant-garde than the versions by the same artists that were ultimately selected by the studios and went on to achieve iconic status.

Some of Hollywood’s leading illustrators, including legendary 92-year-old Art Director, Bill Gold, have granted Daybees special access to their exploratory conceptual development work for movies including The Exorcist, Ocean’s Eleven, Pulp Fiction, and A Clockwork Orange.
