A Visual Statistical History of The Beatles Honoring the 50th Anniversary of Their Arrival in the United States

In honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the arrival of The Beatles in the United States, The New York Times has created “The Beatles By Numbers“, a visual statistical history of The Beatles, scored to their infamous Ed Sullivan Show performance of “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” on February 9, 1964.

Half a century has passed since the Beatles’ first American performance on the Ed Sullivan Show. Since then, they have sold more albums than any other band and left an unparalleled musical legacy.
