“A View From the Other Side” is a spectacular time-lapse visualization by NASA that shows the far side of the Moon (the side we can’t see from Earth) as it passes through its phases and libration. The video was created with imaging data captured by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, and was made as a counterpart to the annual Moon Phase and Libration visualization that shows the Moon as seen from Earth after NASA received a number of comments requesting a view from the other side.
Besides showing a different lunar landscape than we humans are used to seeing, “A View From the Other Side” also shows the Earth spinning behind the Moon.
