A Vendor Makes Turkish Sand Coffee That Appears to Brew Like Magic

A vendor in Istanbul makes Turkish coffee using a heated bowl of sand. While it almost appears the coffee is somehow filling from the bottom up magically from the sand, ground coffee and water are already in the pot (called a cezve), and the hot sand heats the water to a rolling boil that reaches the top of the cezve.
