A Terrified Seal Jumps Onto the Deck of a Passing Boat to Escape a Circling Pod of Hungry Orcas

Escaping Seal Onto Boat

That guy deserves to live.

While out on a whale-watching excursion with his family and friends, Kirk Fraser was taken by surprise when a terrified seal desperately scrambled onto the deck of his boat in search a safe place to hide from a pod of 12 hungry orcas who were circling closer and closer. The humans aboard first joked with the whales, stating that they would “shove him off to you“, but ultimately encouraged the big-eyed seal to stay aboard for as long as he could. Once the whales gave up and moved on, the seemingly grateful seal jumped off and swam happily away.

I was out with my parents and a family friends when we were looking for whales and a pod of 12 trainsient killer whales where chasing the seal. It ripped towards the boat in a desperate escape and scrambled on the deck. It fell off three times in panic and finally stayed on untill the whales gave up after about 30-45 minutes. Most intense epic experience ever. Love you Nature. What a lucky seal
