A Neglected Dog Loses 35 Pounds When His Overgrown Matted Fur Is Shorn by His Rescuers

A sweet but neglected dog named Lazarus, who had been saved from a “poop-filled barn” by volunteers at Big Fluffy Dog Rescue in Virginia, lost more than 35 pounds when his unbelievably overgrown matted fur was shorn off his little body. Lazarus is currently residing with foster mom Amanda Brooke Charsha-Lindsey, who is taking wonderful care of this incredible pooch.

Say Hi to Lazarus, joining BFDR tomorrow and Casa De Lindsey short term for some vaccines. Huge shoutout to Rachel Beasley for sending him our way and to his rescuers for shaving 35 pounds of hair off him. He hasn’t left a poop filled barn stall in 6 years. Tomorrow, he gets a crash course in house life. Might only get as far as the garage, but it’ll be inside. Laz, we have just started buddy.

Charsha-Lindsey is also asking people to focus more on Lazarus’ future, rather than his past.
