Film series Eyes on Cinema interviewed lens maker Joe Dunton about the many lenses legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick employed over the course of his long and storied career.
Kubrick’s understanding of lenses came from his stills background. Lenses actually make the picture. Lenses are the most important part of cinema picture making, which he understood very well.
Dunton worked as a technical adviser on Kubrick’s final film, Eyes Wide Shut.
