A Giant Rotating Mirrored Sculpture of Franz Kafka’s Head Reflects Prague City Hall Back on Itself

In 2014, Czech artist David Cerny created a giant mirrored rotating sculpture of author Franz Kafka‘s head and installed it in front of a shopping area in Prague across the street from City Hall. The sculpture is in a style very similar to his 2011 Metamorphosis project, the 45-ton sculpture is divided into horizontal slices that slowly rotate out of sync with one another.

Stainless Steel, height 10 meters, mass : 45 tons, 38 of them moving. 42 independently driven layers. Max revolving speed of each layer 6 RPM
