Scott, it’s enough to link to sites once. I’ll add them to my RSS reader if I like them.

No offense but I’m getting pretty bored with Laughing Squid, it seems like you’re just recycling everything by an arbitrary cast of your friends. I’d love to see more local coverage and less link dumping.

Um, “no offense”, but I’m pretty bored with comments like this.

So now I’m supposed to only blog about things that anonymous Robert is interested in? Ok, I’ll start planning my new “stuff Robert likes” blog right away.

One thing to keep in mind, this is my blog, so I’m going to post about things I’m interested in on a variety of topics. Chances are other people will be interested in some of the stuff I post about, but not every single person is going to be interested in each and every post. This is normal for any blog.

Here’s a helpful hint, if you are not interested in a particular blog post, just don’t read it. That system works really well for me when reading other people’s blogs.

I have no problem with the range of things you choose to cover, of course that’s your choice and you don’t have to answer for it.

What I pointed out (in a knee-jerk way, I’ll admit) is that the increasing repetition from the same cast doesn’t make for the most interesting reading. Monochrom, They Might Be Giants, High Fructose, You Suck At Photoshop, rinse, repeat.

So Robert, if you’re so bored with Scott’s blog, why don’t you post a link to your blog so we can see what incredibly interesting and utterly fascinating things you write about?

Or do you not have one?

Robert, what you are referring to is not a recent thing at all. For over 13 years now I have helped promote my friends art and work through Laughing Squid (see the Co-Conspirators list on the right hand sidebar), so that’s not something that is not going to change. In fact the reason I created Laughing Squid and The Squid List was to promote my friends art, so really your issue is with the basis of Laughing Squid itself.

Honestly, it really just sounds like this blog is not for you, which is fine. I add and remove blogs from my news reader all of the time.
