mobileme was for me the most exciting announcement, but even that is a little dissapointing. thats because its still mobileME (personal info management) and not mobileUS (information sharing). so it cant really be called "exchange for the rest of us". i guess that keeps solutions like HyperOffice viable as they also allow for sharing of info (contacts, calendars, docs etc) across mac, pc and iPhone.

Recently we've begun using clips from Caroline Martel's ingenious 2007 film Phantom Of The Operator in our XL Terrestrial research project about media ecology... i.e. mass media and the technological wormholes, to Jobs-holes to big brother corporate/state A-holes...

Martel's a bit like Craig Baldwin and Chris Marker's god-daughter, tampering with the corporate lines and hacking yur macro viewfinder...

Unraveling the fiber optic cable to its very roots from the beginnings of Ma Bell and its oh so fickle relationship with women labor... and the haunting-to-humorous trajectories of a networked world.

A MUST SEE !

there's this hilarious archival film sequence ( most of the film is assembled from archive.org footage ) from the PR campaign to instruct consumers on the new dial telephone, and we think it might be Mr. Mc Job's missing link in a double-breasted suit circa 1950.

...

Upcoming story on Martel and related media deconstructions coming soon to the XLT site. see above.

Never mind the new shiny apps, what's in it for humanity ??!
