Public Profiler’s service World Names Profiler uses a variety of public information sources to map frequency of a family name over a geographic area.

As an Abruzzese, I am surprised to see there are more Abruzzi in Sicily then in the Italian region Abruzzo.

Nah, this is a total bust. This site is being discussed elsewhere and commenters have noted that Kim doesn't register in Korea, Wang and Wong don't show up in China (most common name in the world) and no evidence of Hernandez in Mexico. Delightfully amusing, but the data is worthless.

Indeed, fun to look at, but rather useless for genealogical purposes. The Abruzzi problem also occurs for Vilner (from Vilna/Vilnius) which doesn't even light up Lithuania in the slightest.
