Our story is about a girl named “Iris”. Iris is very sensitive. So much that she is always in tears.

In this clever Ted-Ed animation, educator Alex Gendler explains the three types of tears through “a watery day in the life of Iris“. On this day, poor Iris finds herself cycling through all three types of tears; the basal tears that clean her eyes, the basal tears that ward off irritants and the emotional tears that result from a lovely, but doomed relationship with a girl named “Onion”.
