[...] The BrainJams Unconference, Chris Heuer’s follow-up to October’s successful Web 2.1 event (here’s my Web 2.1 wrap-up), takes place this Saturday, December 3rd at SRI in Menlo Park. Laughing Squid is proud to once again be one of the sponsors of this excellent event. For more info, check out the BrainJams wiki and blog. BrainJams Events are open spaces where the participants decide on the content of the event within a basic framework that includes one on one knowledge networking in the morning and open discussions on how to best use emerging technologies in the afternoon. The knowledge and information shared amongst participants will be gathered and redistributed online to further the discussions, learning and idea manifestation after the event and beyond. tags: events, brainjams, menlopark, sri – posted by Scott Beale on Monday, November 28th, 2005 Comments RSS feed | Trackback URL [...]

Thanks Chris. I was trying to remember the website you were demoing, but for some reason I could only recall editthispage.net. I've updated my post to reference synchroedit.com.

Thanks for coming to share your knowledge and for all the support. Not only did we have a great event, but it was less expensive than we had thought, and a nice sized donation will be made to the Internet Archive this week. Something really amazing is percolating in the world right now and I just can't wait to see what it is.

You are right about the "What is Web 2.1 Sculpture Contest" - we did not get to announce the winner because we just had to much we had to talk about with each other and that felt more important. If I were judging it though, the robot was the winner - not only was it cool, but the message drove it home, we should not be thinking CHI (computer human interface) we should be thinking (human computer interface) which is how the rest of the world looks at the technology at the center of our world. When it is as simple to use as a pencil, we will have achieved a terrific milestone

Thankfully she did get to learn the most important meaning which the contest was intended to convey. Web 2.0 was the tub of legos, what people did with them was Web2.1 That's cool - thanks to Will Pate for suggesting the metaphor. Unfortunately I dont recall her name, so if someone can tell me who it is, we will be paypalling her $25 for the winning the prize with her great message and cool sculpture.

After I collect a few more links I will post something on my site - and somewhere soon I will be sharing some ideas on what next
