Water Bomber Planes Refilling at a California Reservoir in High Speed Passes To Help Fight Colby Fire

video by Steve Galloway

Last week water bombers refilled their tanks at the Santa Fe Dam in Southern California in impressive low-altitude passes captured on video by eyewitnesses. The aircraft appear to be the two Bombardier 415 Superscoopers that Los Angeles County leases seasonally from the Province of Quebec. The videos were shot on January 16 as firefighters battled the Colby fire near Glendora and Azusa. The fire is still burning though it is expected to be extinguished by Wednesday.
