Under The Milky Way by The Church

I never get tired of “Under The Milky Way” by The Church from their 1988 album Starfish. It features a guitar solo using an EBow that makes it sound like a bagpipe.

I never tire of it either — it’s a quintessential ’80s song, more so than “Always Something There to Remind Me”.

Scott! You’ve inspired me to try something on Shrini’s Metanotes.

I call it Black Celebration (naturally ;)

I’m totally with you on this! ‘Reptile’ is another classic.

Huh. Didn’t know that you were a Church fan too. “Reptile” is one of my 10 mostest favorite songs, and I think “Starfish” is easily one of the greatest 100 albums of all time. Simone didn’t know it. I indoctrinated her about 2 years ago.

Huh. I never knew that wasn’t bagpipes. And I’d never seen the video, thanks for posting that! I never get tired of this one either.

This is a fantastic song. Nicole Atkins does a wonder cover of it. She puts in a bit more darkness and less…..fun.
