Twilight Zone Live On Stage in San Francisco

For the seventh year in a row, San Francisco’s little black box theater The Dark Room presents a month’s worth of traveling to another dimension, Serling-style.

From now through June 12th, each Friday & Saturday night will feature a different pair of classic Twilight Zone episodes re-set and re-imagined on the Dark Room stage. Each weekend also features a different portrayal of Rod Serling (host, producer, and often writer of the seminal supranatural television series), as well as live commercials performed on-stage between episodes.

See the list of episodes being performed this year, read more about the run on SF Weekly, and buy advance tickets for upcoming episodes.

For a blast from the past, you can see the images that Laughing Squid’s Primary Tentacle, Scott Beale, shot of the second year’s performances, six years ago in 2004 (including a few pix of me in a performance of “Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?“).

Actor, nerd, poet, producer, writer mikl-em made his name short so you wouldn't have to. In addition to his blog you can find his writing in "Hi Fructose" magazine and witness him almost life-sized in various plays at The Dark Room Theater in SF's Mission district.

He tends to write about theater, humor, San Francisco culture and history, and stuff that's just plain weird. He thanks Scott for sharing the keys to the Laughing Squid virtual HQ and promises to uphold whatever it is that the mirthful cephalopod would prefer to be uplifted.
